Recognizes the best original research paper on neurobiology, psychopharmacology, psychosocial treatments, or experimental psychopathology of anxiety disorders and depression. Award includes: $1,000 cash award, two year complimentary ADAA membership, free 2027 conference registration, recognition at the Conference, potential publication in ADAA's scientific journal (with waived publication fee!), and a poster presentation opportunity. "Receiving the Donald F. Klein Early Career Investigator Award from ADAA was a huge honor for me. I have been a member of ADAA for over 10 years and attending conferences throughout that time, so it was such a privilege to have my work recognized by many of the researchers I've seen at ADAA over the years and whose work I admire. ADAA's conference is always a great event for networking, and even more so after receiving the Klein Award. I am extremely grateful for and honored by the recognition!" -- Nicole Short, PhD, University of Las Vegas |
Supports students and early career clinicians and researchers through leadership training and mentorship. Award includes: $1,000 cash award, free 2027 conference registration, two years of complimentary ADAA membership, a full day of small-group mentoring, recognition at the Conference, and more. "The ADAA CDLP program was a tremendous experience. As an early career investigator, the mentorship and training available through the CDLP was invaluable to making connections with more senior scholars in my field, receiving personalized career guidance, and exploring my professional goals and values. The community created through CDLP was warm, welcoming, and exceedingly supportive. I benefited from the group didactic presentations and small group discussions, as well as informal opportunities to network with CDLP mentors. I cannot recommend participation in the CDLP highly enough!" -- Julianne M. Griffith, PhD (she/her), T32 Postdoctoral Scholar University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine |
Building the future of ADAA by supporting graduate degree students, interns, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and early career professionals who focus on anxiety, depression, and related disorders. Award includes: Free 2027 conference registration, two years of complimentary ADAA membership, and recognition at the Conference. "I found ADAA to be one of the best professional conferences I have attended - not only because of the breadth of clinical and research expertise represented, but also because of the genuine emphasis on mentorship, professionalism, and supporting emerging clinicians. Being an ADAA Early Career Awardee gave me a sense of community and confidence that has stayed with me beyond the conference. I had the opportunity to have conversations directly with leaders in the field, and built connections with other clinicians which helped me see new possibilities for my own growth and career. I left feeling not only more connected to the field, but more confident in my place within it." -- Esha Karia, LMHC, 2026 Early Career Membership Awardee |
