Welcome to another illustrated edition of Haley Wrote This! You can support this newsletter by clicking the ♡ button at the bottom and sharing this publication with your friends. Paid subscriptions keep it alive entirely. Thank you! In a recent interview, singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus said something that I can’t stop thinking about. Her words were part of a larger conversation about how important socializing is for our collective well-being. This interview found me right on time. I tend to become more hermit-like as the colder, darker months roll in, receding into my shell. And when I do have plans (especially if they’re after the sun sets), I find myself wondering why I made them in the first place. But almost every time I spend time with people, regardless of the activity, I’m so happy I did. So yeah, go to the party. It’s good for you. (And while you’re at it, listen to Lucy Dacus. She’s the best). Speaking of parties: I’m very inspired by my Substack buds who host regular zoom hangouts with their online communities. It feels like my turn to have a virtual party of my own—and you’re invited! Haley’s Saturday Sketchbook
