Summer vibes workshop click here New Zoom Class with me and Jennifer /Augustwren Sunday, August 4, 1-3:15 pm EST. with our very special guest - @gavindedraw!   Join us for a summer-inspired Zoom workshop : Summer Vibes.  There are so many great things about the zoom classes Jennifer and I do together. We love the community and seeing what everyone creates and all the variations on our theme is such fun. With all the insanity going on in our country right now - taking a few hours to paint and have fun with us will feel like a welcome break. As always, we begin with short a show and tell from each of us before we each paint for about 45 minutes. You can paint along or just watch and paint from the video later. From 2:45- 3pm our friend Gavin will join  us and will show examples of how he handles a summery scene.  At the very end we have time for some of you to show what you’ve done. Bring your kids! I can’t say for sure, as ya never know how timing works with an almost 4 year old, but since my grandkids are here for the month and Mona will be here - she MIGHT pop in to paint with me. We are painting daily and gotta say, I think she’s a natural! Mona and I painting together and my very high tech painting set up. This is a donation only class, and we want it to accessible to anyone who would like to come. Pay what you can! Know that we work hard for these classes and please pay more if you can afford it. We suggest a minimum of $20.00. EVERYONE who signs up, for live or video only will get the video afterwards. Once you sign up you will get our supply list but you can paint or draw with whatever you have on hand. Please use a lap top or anything BUT your phone with the Eventbrite app to sign up. (we’d switch platforms - but we like Eventbrite’s set up for donation based classes the best) There are lots of issues with the app. on the phone. Sign up here Summer is my favorite time of year. I’m having a lot of fun painting my grandkids on their summer adventures. I decided to add more ‘magical’ elements to my sketchbook paintings of them in keeping with my ‘must be fun to paint’ theme. I’m working on ideas for what I will paint for the class - but I am pretty sure I will paint something a bit magical with water. As always - I love hearing from you. I hope to see some of you on Zoom august 4th! XO Gayle Cherry picking! Why come to our workshops? Here are some reviews. Love the inspiration and affirmation of not-so-perfect work. Teachers are supportive and encouraging of all levels of work. I also like the banter between Gayle & Jennifer about each other's work, and how they do it differently. You both took on complex images and broke down the process you each use to create your gorgeous artwork. It is fascinating to watch each of you work. I think working in a loose style is deceptively difficult! You both put loads of pre work, thought, and experience into your work. You each approach color and composition differently and I love trying out what I see you do. I enjoy seeing your individual processes, hearing how you work through each piece, and appreciate how you both walk us through ways you might rework areas that you might not initially be 100% happy with. Gavin Snider I’m a big fan of Gavin’s work! We’ve followed each other for a while but only met in person once last spring when I stayed at the amazing National Arts Club and he met me there one night to draw in the bar. It was quite an adventure. A man came over to see what we were doing and told us he was also an artist AND that he had been David Hockney's assistant for many years! Gavin and I kept looking at each other telepathically saying - is this guy for real? And he was! His name is Charlie Scheips, and he was also in many of Hockney's paintings! We were fascinated and of course asked him a million questions. I think we drew until around 11 pm which is way past my bedtime. What a wonderful night!
