Today’s bag We tried over 20 natural deodorants to find what works Three testers and a lot of swipes and sweat later, we have a renewed faith in natural deodorants. We chose 22 of them to put through stressful work days and long exercise sessions. Much to our surprise, there’s a handful we’d buy again. But first, there is a lot to unpack about what “natural” really means for deodorant. Aluminum-free does not translate to 100% natural. Many natural deodorants omit common offenders like parabens and phthalates, but still contain other synthetic ingredients that act as binders or prevent bacterial growth. Some natural deodorants contain a full roster of natural ingredients. But sometimes, naturally sourced ingredients are later processed in a lab. It’s complicated, but if you want to make the switch, we have recommendations (and we break down just how natural each is).
