When I say Mallorca is my new favorite color, here’s what I mean:

Haley’s Mallorca Recommendations:
Food and Drink
La Nouvelle Famille: Perhaps my favorite find on the entire island! The restaurant itself occupies the side of a stone alleyway and has the best logo I’ve seen in a while (scroll up to see the coaster I taped in my sketchbook). From there, it only got better: Local wines, buttery noodles with pecorino, burrata, a spicy ice cream sandwich so delicious we ordered an additional scoop of vanilla.
Sea Club at Cap Rocat: I felt like I was in an episode of Succession with this one. As a surprise for Gideon’s birthday, I got a reservation at this five-star hotel restaurant. Keep in mind this hotel is a literal castle. When we arrived, we were driven down to the seaside dining room by golf cart. It was all just a little absurd… but the food was good, and I’ve certainly never experienced anything like it.
OCRE: Lucky for us, this was the restaurant at our hotel. We ate breakfast here each morning—they know how to make a pancake is all I’m saying.
Tourism & Lodging
Can Ferrereta: Because we never took an actual honeymoon, we treated this portion of the trip as such and totally splurged. This hotel, you guys. It has serious historical charm (the building dates back to the seventeenth century) and is tucked away in the quaint village of Santanyí. We got massages! And slept in! And read by the pool (in the shade of olive trees, no less)! Looking back, I’m surprised we left the hotel grounds at all.
Santanyí Market: I didn’t realize our sleepy village became the hot spot on the island twice a week, but WOW it was fun. Every Wednesday and Saturday, tons of vendors fill the streets of Santanyí with their art, food, music, and goods. Every time we turned a corner, there was another block of booths to wander through. Gideon bought a linen shirt and we split pastries from a bakery stand.
Bergant Charters Cala d’Or: I consider a coastal vacation successful once I’ve jumped in the water, which I got to do SO MUCH OF on this boat ride! The captain sailed us to gorgeous coves, where I strapped on my goggles and swam until my skin wrinkled.
Stay tuned for my final pages and recs for Barcelona!
