Well, it’s that time again: the season of gift lists, shipping deadlines, and trying to remember who you already bought for. I like to get a head start on things in early November; it makes the rest of the month feel calmer, or at least slightly less chaotic.
This year, I’m using Shop, a discovery and shopping app I’ve used for years, to source ideas from independent brands and premium retailers. Their collections feature makes it easy to bookmark and organize everything in one place, which has already made my annual gift brainstorm feel much more manageable.
You can also shop directly in the app and track all the packages headed your way in one spot (a life-saver!!).
A game changer: You can track all your orders in one spot via the Shop app and know *exactly* when everything will be delivered.
Below is a little peek at what I’m gifting this year—and what’s on my own wishlist.
P.S. If you’re a family member or friend…avert your eyes! :)
For my husband, who loves to be cozy: The Donegal Crewneck from Todd Snyder. I already know he loves items from this brand that makes high-quality menswear staples, so it’s a safe bet for a gift.
For my two-year-old, who is obsessed with gloves of any kind: I searched for “kids gardening gloves” in the Shop app and discovered two great picks: Garden Your Way’s Little Pals Garden Gloves and MOMA Design Store’s My Little Garden Tools. I think it’s time to introduce her to the joys of gardening. She’s going to be thrilled to have her own tiny gloves (and maybe, just maybe, she’ll stop stealing the ones I use to wash dishes).
The Shop app also features a convenient chat function that can help you find specific items and discover new brands. I love this play oven mitt set from Milton & Goose!
For my MIL, who likes a good, minimalist beauty routine: RMS’s “Best of RMS Collection.” I already know she loves this brand, and this kit looks like a good value and includes all the essentials.
For my mom, who loves nothing more than a good house slipper: Rothy’s The Cozy Buckle Clog. I caught her admiring mine once at our house, so I think she’ll like these.
For my sister, who knows about new beauty brands way before I do: The Return Eye Concentrate from U Beauty, because it’s the only eye cream that has actually made a noticeable difference for my dark circles.
For my SIL who loves a comfortable ‘fit: This Varley Half-Zip Sweat looks chic while also being entirely practical for busy people who need to get sh*t done. It’ll be perfect for her on-the-go lifestyle as a working mom.
For my friend who runs marathons: The Stakt Mat Pro. I love how it folds up into a block so you can do different strength exercises. Plus, it looks chic.
For my pop culture-loving friend who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is: This feisty Furbish Studio Needlepoint Pillow. I discovered this brand through the app, and they have so many other fun needlepoint items.
A signet ring from Fewer Finer for my pinkie, engraved with my daughter’s name. I’ve been slowly building my fine jewelry collection over the past few years, and love the idea of a nice everyday ring stack. This is one of my favorite small, woman-owned brands for customizable heirloom-worthy jewelry.
The Great Leopard Car Coat. I can’t say no to a leopard print! I haven’t bought from this brand yet, but the Shop app floated it to me as one I might like based on the other brands I tend to shop, and I think it’s right…
A cozy chocolate lampshade for my office. I love the traditional English aesthetic and this would be such a great addition that adds warmth to my space.
Shearling clogs! These are just so gorgeous and look comfortable. I’m really into a slip-on-and-go shoe these days for ease.
A candle that smells like peppermint bark. When winter rolls around, I love a delicious gourmand scent. I searched for “peppermint bark” in the Shop app and found this independent candle brand.
A cozy dress for winter to wear with boots. I can see myself dressing this up for Thanksgiving dinner, too.
A nice-smelling detergent.I love this brand’s perfume scents, and the thought of having my clothes smell just as heavenly makes me happy.
A charming fleece. I have this pretty plaid print in a makeup bag and found this jacket that features the same print!
An easy bronzing balm. I reach for cream blushes and bronzers when fall and winter roll around, as they’re easier to apply and feel less dry on my skin. I’d love to try this brand’s bronzer.
A polo romper onesie for baby #2. Okay, this isn’t technically for me, but it brings me joy. I haven’t bought anything for baby boy just yet, and this piece, curated by an independent retailer and brand, looks adorable.
