Hi!

The second stop in my Spain sketchbook tour is none other than Sevilla—a city with gorgeous architecture, vibrant ceramic tiles, and, for us, the wedding of Gideon’s dear childhood friend.

The aesthetic speaks for itself

In case any of you have plans to get married in Seville, this venue was perhaps the most romantic and spectacular setting for a wedding.

We got back to the Airbnb at 4 AM, which meant the next day was a little… less exploratory than others.

Both my pen’s ink and my energy were at an all time low.

Truthfully, I don’t think I had enough time to really get to know Seville as much as I wanted to (which means I just have to go back!!!!).

Haley’s Seville Recommendations:

Food and Drink

Café Santacruz: Had tapas here our first day, including a (truly random) showstopper of a baked brie.
Vuela: More tapas! Intimate, cozy setting with an octopus dish I’ll be thinking about for a while.
Filo: Reliable pot to grab a hearty brunch (they have a breakfast special that includes coffee, juice, yogurt, and an entree).
Corral de Agua: The pink patio of my dreams! Candlelit, plant-filled space with a rockin’ flan.

Sights and Tourism

Setas de Sevilla: Like a giant waffle cone in the sky! I love a public space that provides shade, seating, and a visual masterpiece.
Plaza de España: A must-see, according to everyone. And they’re right!!! You get it all here: Row boats, tiles, trees, and fantastic people watching.
