In a Nutshell
Pilates is my current favorite workout. I love going to a structured class for 45 minutes twice per week with a professional instructor. The studio membership is pricey, but it feels much more effective and sustainable to me than when I used to wander around a gym not knowing how to use any of the equipment.
Keep reading to see more favorite exercises from my fellow team members, along with why they love them!

Our favorite ways to stay physically active
"Rock climbing. Focusing on puzzling out my route helps clear my mind from other distractions. It's also really rewarding when I solve a problem I've been working on." — Megan Severs, senior editorial director
"Indoor cycling. I love that I can change my position and speed based on my music choices. So, if I have a really good playlist, I get really into the workout. It helps that I was a cycling instructor and can make my own workouts!" — Ren Dias, editor
"Does 'exercise with friends' count? Even if I don't always go with a friend, I feel like I hold myself much more accountable to move more if I have a friend who also goes to the gym. If it doesn't count, I would say dancing — not that I'm any good. It's just a fun way to move." — Sarah Matysiak, engagement editor
"I do weightlifting or strength training, then wrap up with about 30 minutes of cardio on a treadmill, stairclimber, or elliptical, although I prefer an outdoor walk to a cardio machine." — Heidi Smith, coaching operations manager
"Hot yoga! Although I'm still far from becoming a true yogi, I've enjoyed trying my hand at it. I vary my routine with different class styles, switching between slower-paced sessions and faster ones that incorporate weights. Engaging in yoga has strengthened my mind-body connection, offering a refreshing change from my typical workouts, such as running." — Lauryn Gladd, lifecycle marketing associate
"I love doing barre, specifically barre3. It's a zero judgment space for movement and mindfulness. I've been going for almost 10 years, and it feels like a community in the best way. The workout is super functional but far from boring, which is important to me as someone in my early 40s who needs variety and a focus on practical movement." — Siobhan Deremer, content integrity editorial director
"I love hiking because even though it's great exercise, it doesn't feel like a 'workout' to me. I really enjoy being outside, discovering new places, and taking in the beautiful scenery. Plus, it's something I can do with my dog. He loves it just as much as I do, and seeing him happy and excited brings me a lot of joy." — Chelsea Logan, commerce managing editor
