From Silsila Bahrami, Contributing Editor
"Journaling a few times a week has become essential for me. While gratitude lists are a common prompt I love, this simple shift has been a real game-changer: Instead of writing what I'm grateful for in general, I've started writing down reasons why I'm grateful for myself. This practice opened my eyes to how rarely I pause to thank and appreciate myself. It's been a powerful way to build confidence and see myself in a more positive light."
A reader comment we love:
"This is a fun list and I am quite 'pro hobbies.' I personally have many hobbies and don't get too perfectionist about them. I have solo hobbies, a couple of social hobbies, and I especially love taking classes to learn new things (currently taking pottery classes). The mental health benefits of my hobbies are important for me. I recently 'decided' that travel planning is a hobby for me. I watch shows and videos, check out books at the library (going to the library is another hobby I added to my weekly schedule too!), and keep fun travel notebooks and journals of my travel ideas for each place I hope to visit. I took a trip this past spring and took my journal with me. There are so many travel journaling ideas online (I find mine through Pinterest and sometime YouTube). It is SO fun. I look forward to my evenings to work on my travel dream plans (instead of watching tv which had gotten old for me lately)."
