I just got back from a trip to Orcas Island. The rocky coast is heaven. I kept finding myself staring out at the horizon, where the neighboring islands jut out in tree-lined curves.

Though it takes a drive and a ferry ride to get there from Seattle, the trip is wholly worth it (and I’m saying that after riding in the middle seat of our tiny car, sandwiched between my sister and my mom!).

We only stayed two nights, so we packed Saturday with a lot of activities:
The tiniest window of blue sky on an otherwise overcast day

On our last day, we got up early to eat breakfast with a view.
I’m trying to hold onto the serenity of this place, the earthy hues and salty air, the gentle breeze and winding roads, all bordered by pebbly beaches and grassy bluffs.
These purple shells utterly stunned me.
I miss it already.
