Well, it finally arrived. The post-book-and-wedding-and-cross-country-travel depression has settled in like a gray haze, thick and disorienting and unsettling. I’m not shocked by this, given the circumstances. But I’m annoyed! It’s summer! The sun doesn’t set till 9 PM! I want to ride my bike and sit outside with a glass of orange wine and spread a blanket on the pebbly beach near my apartment. I want crispy skin and a raspberry popsicle and exposed shoulders. I want to feel the way the sky looks: bright and clear and full of possibility. But I’m really and truly too tired. It helped when, during my most recent therapy session, my therapist said: So I’ll rest. In the wise words of Annie, the sun will come out tomorrow!!!
