After a beautiful May (which is also my fav Gemini month ♊️) where we hosted local community gatherings in LA and NYC, and ran our Out of Office online residency, we’re stepping into a new month 🌞 ![]() Field Trip to LA :) Bottom photos 📸 by JasonLeCras June 🌞 Abstract from Your Spiritual Almanac, Joey Hulin As a research & design lab and community of practice, we bring people together to envision and build a new world based on a shared curiosity in how we work, live, and derive meaning – both on an individual and collective scale. Our work seeks to initiate a shift from work-centered to life-centered existence and help people cultivate more engaged, authentic, and vibrant lives. We explore the conditions of what it takes for the modern worker to feel a sense of connection as well as hope for the future of our world… not to mention a more joyful present. The way we see it, transforming how we work and live requires nothing short of worldbuilding. For the past 5 weeks, we hosted an online program to help a group of 11 wonderful life-centered leaders reimagine and cultivate their vitality, and more engaged, authentic, and vibrant lives. To build a new world. We reimagined what “success” looks like for us, designed principles & rituals, looked at rhythms and models of work, and collectively imaged what a more regenerative work/life might look like in the future. Here are some nuggets and prompts I want to share back with you all, let them sink in and let me know what resonates in the comments 🧡 We talked about the constant tension between living within the current system and building a new system. And came to the conclusion, that to build a new paradigm, we need to work together, and build a support system for each other to collectively compound our impact. Sarah referenced an interview with Judith Shulevitz on the cumulative experience Sabbath aims to create with rest and community that needs to be cumulatively/socially: “When I talk about the Sabbath, I say it's not just non-work or non-productivity. It's absolutely collective non-work and non-productivity because I simply cannot stress this enough, if it's not happening collectively, it's not going to happen." “Your world reflects what you’re holding” “I’m not here to convince, I’m here to attract” "We need to think about what are we FOR, not what are we AGAINST." A huge thank you to our brilliant residents: Lena Robinson, Sarah Jutras, Molly Simpson, Enid Brun, Helen Lee, Catherine Bianca Lima Wakim, Danielle Morris, Gilda Castro Rios, Alia Pialtos, and Meghna Mann. If you want to read more about the residency, Sarah shared her experience here, and Enid shared some reflections here. Local community gatherings ✨Over the past months, we hosted several co-design sessions for our OOO Uniform (launching next week WOHOO, keep an eye out for it 👀) and to understand what new tools and infrastructures are needed in a post-office world. ![]() Photos by JasonLeCras After some beautiful Field Trips in Barcelona, LA and NYC so far, this month, our community is hosting 2 field trips in London and NYC: Field Trip London: Co-working meet-up Field Trip NYC: New York Public Library If you want to host a Field Trip closer to where you live, sign up here! 📚 Reads for this month“Friends” as the ideal community Creating The Future of Life & Work?
